It begins as a byproduct and ends as a usable product for manufacturing any goods, which is far different and more beneficial than traditional waste streams. In 1999 Time magazine recognized him as a 'Hero for the Planet' (2/22/99), stating that "his utopianism is grounded in a unified philosophy that-in demonstrable and practical ways-is changing the design of the world." His ideas and efforts were also honored when, in 1996, he was given the Presidential Award for Sustainable Development, the nation's highest environmental honor, presented by President Clinton in a White House ceremony.
Mr. McDonough is cofounder and principal, with German chemist Michael Braungart, of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry, LLC, a product and systems development firm assisting client companies in implementing their unique sustaining design protocol.

Isabella Cane™ creates design driven dog accessories for you and your best friend! As Architects and Designers we were inspired, by the Make It Right Pink Houses installation in New Orleans, to create Pink Houses textile accessories. The original Pink Houses Installation Textile was designed and created by Twitchell specifically and exclusively for Make It Right in support of all efforts to rebuild New Orleans. A percentage of product sales from our Pink Houses collars and leashes will be donated to support the rebuilding efforts of Brad Pitt and his Make It Right foundation.
